The?New York?Yankees are hosting the Texas Rangers Thursday in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 1:05 p.m. start time and the MLB?Odds for the game have the Yankees favored to pick up the win at home.

Matinee day in the Big Apple, the Yankees are sending Michael Pineda to the mound. He’s 3-7 on the season with a 5.51 ERA over 15 starts. Pineda has been giving up the long ball this season with 14 home runs, he’s also allowed opponents to hit .287 against him over 83 1/3 innings of work. 

The Yankees have won each of the last two Pineda starts, though he did not factor into the decision. Both of those wins came over the Minnesota Twins, though, who are the worst team in the league.

Texas somehow blew a four-run lead in the ninth inning last night, going from up 7-3 to losing 9-7 as Brian McCann and Didi Gregorious both hit bombs in the final frame to give the Yankees the eventual win. The loss snaps a four-game winning streak for Texas, who look to close out the series here with A.J. Griffin on the mound.

Griffin has a record of 3-0 with a 3.08?ERA in seven starts, Griffin hasn’t won a start since April 26 though. Coincidentally, that start came against the Yankees in a game where he threw eight innings and allowed just one earned run.

Texas is red hot right now and will look to get back in the win column following last night’s disaster, Pineda has also struggled all season.
