MLB Odds
Seattle -131, Cleveland +121
Total: 8 runs
Cleveland sits atop the American League Central standings, 2.5 games above the Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers. Even so, they come into tonight's game having lost two in a row and they have been OK in road games, going 15-14 so far this season.
The Mariners are three games behind the Texas Rangers in the American League West, but they have a record that is a game better in the win column than Cleveland.
The Indians are sending Josh Tomlin (8-1, 3.54 ERA) to the mound tonight. In road starts he has an ERA a full run lower compared to his home starts, he's also 4-0 in those starts. The Mariners have had some moderate success against him, collecting 15 hits over a small 52 at bats, led by Robinson Cano and Kyle Seager with five hits each against him.
Seattle will start Nathan Karns (5-2, 4.23) tonight. He has an ERA a full run better in home starts, where he's tossed 30 combined innings and given up just two home runs. Karns has allowed the Indians to hit .350 against him over 60 at bats, Jason Kipnis has the most hits with four against him.
Karn is coming off a really bad start against Texas where he surrendered seven earned runs over four innings. Tomlin has won three of his last four starts overall and could join the group of league-leaders in wins at nine tonight.
