NHL Playoff Odds
Pittsburgh -210
Total: 5.5 goals
The Penguins are a big favorite here, being on their own ice against a banged up Tampa Bay team gives Pittsburgh an outstanding chance to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. Sidney Crosby has scored the game-winning goal in each of the previous three victories by Pittsburgh and he is looking to get the Penguins back to the finals for the first time in seven years.
San Jose will meet the winner of tonight's game, the Sharks will be playing in the franchises' first Stanley Cup Finals as they outlasted the St. Louis Blues in six games.
Tampa Bay played in the finals last year, but lost to the Chicago Blackhawks in six games. Somehow they have reached Game 7 in this series despite playing without the team's best player in Steven Stamkos, plus Ben Bishop has been on the bench since the first period of Game 1, where he suffered a leg injury. Neither Stamkos or Bishop is expected to play tonight, but at this point in the series Tampa Bay might be better off without them on the ice.
Pittsburgh has the two best players in Crosby and Evgeni Malkin on the ice. They also have the strong goalie going as Matt Murray has looked solid in his time in net.
