NHL Playoff Odds Tampa Bay Lightning at New York Islanders

The Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Islanders continue their NHL Playoff series tonight in Game 3, which is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Currently the NHL Odds for the game have the Lightning favored to pick up the win on the road.

NHL Odds

Lightning -110, Islanders +100

Total: 5 goals scored

This series is tied 1-1, Tampa Bay picked up a 4-1 victory in the second game, which was almost a must-win situation for them. The Lightning were very strong in home games this season and losing the opening two games on their own ice would have been a problem.

The Islanders should be thrilled with splitting in Tampa Bay. Now they have a real chance to take a commanding lead in this one, they also have some history on their side here.

The Lightning haven’t won in regulation against the Islanders in quite a while, the last nine road games. Tampa Bay will rely on goalie Ben Bishop tonight to have a bit game. He was very strong against the Red Wings in the opening round and played very strong in Game 2 as well.

Thomas Greiss wasn’t terrible against Tampa Bay in the last game, but the Islanders netminder has to continue to be sharp. He has allowed three goals in each of the last two games and made 60 combined saves. The offense wasn’t there in Game 2 of this series and that hurt Greiss and the Islanders chance at pulling another strong upset.

Tonight they’re at home and looking for a big win.
