The Toronto Raptors are hosting the Indiana Pacers tonight in Game 5 of the NBA Playoffs. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on TNT. Currently the NBA Playoff Odds for the game have the Raptors favored by a couple of possessions to get the win.
NBA Odds
Toronto -7, Indiana +7
Total: 192.5 points
This series is tied at 2-2 with the important fifth game coming up tonight. Toronto certainly gets an edge in this one being at home, where they were 32-9 on the regular season, though they did lost Game 1 of this series to the Pacers in Toronto.
Indiana has to feel good about a 17-point blowout in Game 4, which took place just the other day. The Pacers got 22 points each from George Hill and center Ian Mahinmi in that victory, they each saw better than 30 minutes on the floor and the Pacer starters had an impressive game.
Toronto turned it over 17 times. They also got off to a bad start in the opening quarter, getting outscored by a dozen points. DeMar DeRozan and the Raptors have to find a way to get off to a better start tonight, especially at home. Kyle Lowrey will need to have a better game offensively as well, he’s averaging less than five field goals made per game in this series.
Paul George is averaging 26.3 points per game this playoffs, which ranks third-best behind Isaiah Thomas and Kyrie Irving. His last game, one the Pacers won, saw George score only 19 points, his lowest of the series. He will once again have a major impact on tonight’s game.
A loss here for Toronto would be terrible for the Raptors, especially with the series heading back to Indiana for a sixth game. The Raptors don’t want to have to win that sixth game on the road to stay alive, so expect a solid effort in this one.
