The top-seeded Oregon Ducks are taking on the second-seeded Oklahoma Sooners tonight in Elite Eight College Basketball action. The game is being played inside the Honda Center in Anaheim, California where it has a start time of 6:09 p.m. (Eastern), it will be televised nationally on CBS. Currently the Vegas odds for the game have Oregon favored to pick up the win, though the line is very tight.
Both Oklahoma and Oregon have looked strong in the NCAA Tournament to date. The Sooners have one of the best players in the country in Buddy Hield, Oregon sports one of the most athletic teams that no one is paying attention to.
Outside of a close four-point win over VCU, Oklahoma has cruised in its other two games to date, beating Cal-State Bakersfield and Texas A&M by 14 points each. Against the Aggies, Oklahoma had four starters in double figures, led by Jordan Woodard with 22 points. Hield posted a double-double while freshman guard Christian James came off the bench to score 12.
Oregon hammered Duke, beating them by 14 points while shooting just over 49 percent for the game. The Ducks finished with four starters in double figures, they also had one guy off the bench score 13. The balanced scoring, athletic players and strong defense all proved to be a big deal in the win over Duke.
Dillon Brooks is one of the best shot creators in the country, he led the Ducks with 22 points in the win, shooting better than 47 percent from the floor.
Both teams shoot 49 percent, score right around 81 points per game and can attack the offensive glass. Oklahoma hasn’t been to the Final Four since 2002 and the school has never won a national championship. Oregon last won a national title in 1939, the last time they made a Final Four.
