The NCAA Basketball continues Sunday night as the Maryland Terrapins take on the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The game will be played inside Spokane Arena in Spokane, Washington where it has a start time of 7:10 p.m. and it will be televised nationally on TBS. Currently the Vegas odds for the game have the Terps favored by 6 points to pick up the win.

Maryland survived a scare in the opening round of the tournament, beating South Dakota State in a close matchup where the Jackrabbits had a chance to tie the game late. Melo Trimble fouled out on a bad play toward the end of the game, but his season did not end on the bench as his teammates helped propel them to a win.

Hawaii left no doubt they were a double-digit seed looking for a win on Friday, bearing California by 11 points in a game where the Rainbow Warriors did nothing wrong. That was the school’s first NCAA Tournament win, they had three guys score in double figures and two other starters combined for 17 points as well.

What should scare Maryland a bit is Hawaii connected for just three of 14 triples on the day, yet they still won by double digits. The Rainbow Warriors made 20 free throws in the win as well on 25 attempts.

This game should be a close one, Hawaii has proven all season they are a legitimate team that can score and doesn’t have to rely on one single player. Maryland will be a tougher task than Cal, the Terps are big up front and have an excellent shooter in Jake Layman, who connected for 27 points in the opening round win.

Maryland is more talented, deeper and should win, but Hawaii is going to keep this close.
