The Xavier Musketeers are on the road in Big East College Basketball action today, taking on the Seton Hall Pirates. The game is scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX Sports 1. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Musketeers favored in a close one on the road.

Seton Hall has quietly had an impressive season with 20 wins. The Pirates have an RPI inside the Top 40 nationally and they have solid against Top 100 teams with an 8-7 record. Two of those wins came against Providence in conference play, plus Seton Hall also beat Wichita State.

Two losses to Villanova and (potentially) two defeats against Xavier are strong resume builders, even if they are losses. Three straight wins and seven victories in eight games overall have the Pirates as a legitimate NCAA Tournament team, playing at home for the final time this season should see them bring intensity against a great Xavier team.

The Musketeers, with a win, might be the top-ranked team in the country come next week. They already beat No. 1 Villanova earlier this week and a road win at Seton Hall would give them a strong case for at least a look at the top overall spot.

Seton Hall has a record of 12-3 in home games this season, all three defeats came against Top 100 schools. Xavier has been very strong in road games themselves, winning eight times in 10 chances. Four of those road wins have come against Top 100 teams, a win here on the road at Seton Hall would be an excellent addition to a potential No. 1 seed resume.

If Xavier plays well and does not have a layoff from the Villanova game, they should be able to pick up the victory.
