The Kentucky Wildcats are hosting the Alabama Crimson Tide tonight in a big SEC College Basketball matchup. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Wildcats favored by double digits to pick up the win.

Kentucky is coming off a pretty tough loss at Texas A&M where things certainly did not go the Wildcats’ way late. John Calipari wasn’t exactly thrilled with the officiating and in the end the Aggies were able to prevail for a big win on their own floor.

The Wildcats remaining four games during the regular season all come against Top 100 RPI squads and a few of them could really use a win over Kentucky to help bolster their resumes. The Wildcats are going to have to be focused the final few weeks as the SEC regular season wraps up, Kentucky is still sitting in first place for the conference as well, the 10-4 record is a full game ahead of a pack of squads.

Alabama is only 16-10 on the season, but the resume is strong with seven Top 100 RPI wins, five of which came against the Top 50. The Crimson Tide need another game like this one tonight in order to better their chances of making the NCAA Tournament, especially with three straight winnable games to end the regular season. Then again, if the Crimson Tide can take care of business in their remaining games following this one, it might be enough as is.

Tyler Ulis is one of the best point guards in America and Kentucky has really gotten great play from Jamal Murray this year, he’s pouring in an average of better than 19 points per game, including six straight games over 20 points. The Wildcat backcourt is strong and will cause problems for Alabama tonight. The Crimson Tide will be overmatched on the boards as well, if Kentucky can rebound mentally from the loss on Saturday they should be able to play well enough at home to get the win.
