Belk Bowl Mississippi State Bulldogs vs North Carolina State Wolfpack Start Time, Betting Odds, Free Pick

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are taking on the North?Carolina State Wolfpack in the Belk Bowl. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Bulldogs favored to pick up a win by a comfortable margin.

This game is being played in?Charlotte, North?Carolina which gives a distinct geographical advantage to NC?State. Despite the location, Mississippi?State opened up as the favorite in this game and the line still has the Bulldogs as a solid favorite to get the job done.

Dak Prescott is one of just four players in Football Bowl Subdivision history to throw for 60 touchdowns and run for 40 in his career, the dual-threat option gives Prescott a nice advantage in this one. For the season Prescott accounted for 35 touchdowns and almost 4,000 yards of total offense. Outside of him the Bulldogs really don’t have a great running game, that could prove to be a big impact on this contest.

Through the air, Prescott’s top two targets are Fred Ross and De’Runnya Wilson, the duo have combined to snag better than 130 catches and 1,700 yards, along with 13 touchdowns. The Bulldogs are always dangerous with Prescott on the field and N.C. State is going to have a hard time slowing that offense down.

Offensively for the Wolfpack, Jacoby Brissett is a special talent at quarterback. While he threw for only 2,500 yards this season he had 19 touchdowns and led the Pack to seven wins. The main problem for N.C. State this season was each of their losses were to teams better than they were, not once did they beat a team that was very good.

Victories over Troy,?Eastern?Kentucky, Old Dominion, South Alabama, Wake Forest,?Boston?College and Syracuse doesn’t make a great resume, they will need to bring their best effort to have a chance at beating Mississippi State.
Prescott is the best player on the field and while his supporting cast isn’t the best in the SEC, it still makes the Bulldogs a better team than N.C. State. The Bulldogs suffered four tough losses, all to bowl teams, the SEC schedule will make a difference here.
