The Green Bay Packers are hosting the Chicago Bears tonight in NFL Football action on Thanksgiving. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on NBC. Currently the NFL Odds for the game have the Packers favored by a comfortable margin to pick up the victory at home.
Green Bay got back into the win column last week, beating up on the Vikings in Minnesota. Now they host the Bears for the Thanksgiving night game, which will feature a Green Bay Hall of Fame induction for the gunslinger Brett Favre. It's nice to see Green Bay welcome back ole No. 4 with open arms and this feels like the ideal time and place to have him honored.
Getting back to football. The Bears had won two in a row and almost made it three last week, but they fell to the Broncos 17-15 in a game where Chicago almost tied it up on a late TD plus two-point conversion. The Chicago/Green Bay rivalry is the oldest in pro football and this has a feel of being another great chapter in that lengthy book.
Aaron Rodgers is getting back to form and much like his dominance over the Vikings, he's led the Packers to a 10-0 record against the Bears when he wasn't getting injured early in one of those games. Overall Green Bay has won seven of 12 against Chicago (minus Rodgers once) and this one should be no different.
Jay Cutler appears to have made solid strides under new offensive coordinator Adam Gase, but he's going to be without a ton of weapons in this one. Martellus Bennett has officially been ruled out and there's talk that Alshon Jeffery, Eddie Royal and Matt Forte could all be game-time decisions. Cutler and the Bears need them to play.
Green Bay has been a M.A.S.H. unit at wide receiver, but Rodgers and the boys seems to have started figuring things out. Chicago won't be able to keep them grounded forever and Eddie Lacy really showed some positive improvements last week in a Packer win. If he can get going, the Packers will run away with this one.
