The Indianapolis Colts are on the road in NFL Football action Sunday, taking on the Atlanta Falcons. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the NFL Odds for the game have the Falcons favored to pick up the win in this one at home.
Andrew Luck is going to miss this game as he continues to battle injuries for the Colts. The AFC South has been a mess all season, the Colts find themselves tied with the Houston Texas atop the division with 4-5 records. Jacksonville just picked up its fourth win of the season on Thursday night and it looks like those three teams will slug it out the remainder of the season.
Matt Hasselbeck gets the start, he's led Indy to two victories and he probably won't see a ton of pressure in this one from the Falcons defense. Atlanta has just 10 sacks on the year, the lowest of any team in the NFL.
Atlanta comes in having lost three of four games and most recently they were knocked off by the very bad San Francisco 49ers. The Falcons are going to have to find a way to run the football in this one with Devonta Freeman and need Matt Ryan to be effective. The Falcons are coming off a bye week where they should have been able to shore things up and be ready to go.
It's worth noting that Atlanta has failed to cover in five straight appearances when they are favored in a game. The Falcons are loaded with talent on the offensive end of the football and the Colts are not a great defensive team.
Indy can't run the football, either. The Colts rank 25th in the league and will take on an Atlanta team that ranks third-best in the league against the run. Even so, the five straight no covers as a favorite for the Falcons is troubling.
