Air Force Falcons at Boise State Broncos Start Time, College Football Betting Odds

The Boise State Broncos are hosting the Air Force Falcons tonight in college football action. The game is scheduled for a 9:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Broncos favored by double digits to get the job done at home.

Boise State is favored by double digits over the team that leads the Mountain West “Mountain Division,” which is certainly interesting. The Falcons are 7-3 overall and 5-1 in conference action so far this year, the Broncos are just a game behind them with a 4-2 conference mark.

So why is Boise favored by so much? Air Force has not traveled well this year, going 1-3 in their true road games Even so, the Falcons have posted four straight victories overall and the defense has proven to be a pretty stingy one during that time. For the season Air Force has yielded just 120 points in their six conference tilts, the second-lowest number of any team in the Mountain West as only San Diego State has given up fewer points.

Boise has had no problem scoring, Brett Rypien has thrown for 14 scores and Jeremy Nichols has rumbled to find the end zone with 15 rushing scores as well. Boise has one of the best receivers nobody really knows about with Thomas Sperbeck, he’s caught 62 passes (seven TDs) for better than 1,200 yards. They will certainly put some pressure on Air Force’s defense in this one.

One thing worth noting with the Falcon offense is the ability to run the football as well as anybody in the country, they also eat up a ton of clock. Air Force ranks fourth nationally in the time of possession category, averaging more than 33 minutes on offense per game. Boise State is no slouch themselves at 31 minutes per game on offense, giving a greater importance tonight with the defense.

Air Force has a ton of options to run the football, led by Jacobi Owens, Karson Roberts and D.J. Roberts. They all have at least six TDs on the ground and lead the Air Force attack.

Boise State is great at home, Air Force struggles on the road but the double digits seems like a bit much, especially with the Falcons running attack.
