The Tennessee Titans are taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars in NFL Football action tonight. The game is scheduled for an 8:25 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NFL Network. Currently the NFL Odds for the game have the Jaguars favored to pick up the victory at home.
As strange as it may be, all four teams in the AFC South are still alive to win the division. The Jags and Titans have some work to do, obviously, but a win here by either team can help give them some confidence moving forward despite both teams being 0-2 in the division.
The Jaguars won on a crazy last couple of plays last week over Baltimore, parlaying that into another win here over the Titans would pull them even with both Indianapolis and Houston with four victories on the season. This is only the third time the last three-plus years that the Jaguars are favorites in a game.
Jacksonville QB Blake Bortles has been OK this season, the 19 touchdowns are certainly nice but the youngster has to make better decisions as he's thrown 11 picks as well. Bortles has some great receivers with Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns, they've each hauled in seven TDs and average better than 16 yards per catch as well.
Tennessee had a great win two weeks back at New Orleans, but at other times this season they have struggled to put points on the board as well. The Titans need to continue to find a way to be consistent, even after firing Ken Whisenhunt. Interim head coach Mike Mularkey has guided the Titans to a 1-1 record so far, a win here would (somehow) bring them right back into the divisional race.
Marcus Mariota has been up and down this rookie season, but he should be able to put up points tonight against the Jags.
Even so, Jacksonville is favored for a reason and their recent history of never being favored should be considered here.
