The Auburn Tigers play host to the Ole Miss Rebels in college football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ESPN. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Rebels favored to pick up the victory in this road game.

Ole Miss is still alive in the SEC West standings, just a game behind LSU (which they play later in the year). The Rebels bounced back nicely from a loss at Memphis to beat Texas A&M handily last week, the defense was great with allowing the Aggies to just a field goal.

On the flip side, it’s been a year to forget (yes, already) for Auburn. The Tigers are just 4-3 overall with a 1-3 SEC record, most recently losing to Arkansas 54-46 last week in four overtimes. Gus Malzahn and Will Muschamp were supposed to be a great couple for the Tigers defense, it hasn’t gone well this year as they are giving up just under 30 points per game to opponents.

Auburn has kicked its best player (D’haquille Williams) out of school, starting quarterback Sean White hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass in any of the three games he has started and Ole Miss is feeling better about themselves after last week’s dominant performance on defense. Rebel quarterback Chad Kelly will look to improve upon his 3-pick performance last week.

Auburn will struggle to move the football against the Rebels. Expect Laquon Treadwell to have a big game for Ole Miss offensively, he will have a bit of a chip on his shoulder because of last year’s game — where his season was ended by a gruesome leg injury at the goal line, where he fumbled the football into the end zone and effectively ended Ole Miss’ chances at the playoff. He should be ready for this one.
