The Clemson Tigers are quickly rising in the polls, but they go on the road in college football action on Saturday, taking on the N.C. State Wolfpack. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ABC or ESPN2, depending on regional coverage. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Tigers favored to pick up the victory on the road.

Clemson has been very good to date this season, rising all the way into the top three in the AP Poll, earning six first-place votes. The typical Clemson team in recent years would begin the season ranked highly like this one did, but soon fizzle out because of tougher competition or a bad loss. This Dabo Sweeney team isn’t having any of that nonsense though — Clemson just gave Miami the worst loss in school history and because of that Al Golden was fired. Well, he probably wasn’t fired because of the loss but it really didn’t help his case.

Either way, Clemson rolls into Raleigh looking to remain on task. The Wolfpack have a solid squad this year and quarterback Jacoby Brissett isn’t nearly talked about enough as he is one of the best in the conference. Brissett owns 10 TD passes this season and he’s managed their games well, throwing only one pick. That pick came in his worst game of the year at Virginia Tech two game ago, he completed less than 50 percent of his passes and threw for only 113 yards in that one.

Brissett and the Wolfpack also didn’t play well against Clemson last year; it was probably Brissett’s worst game too. The then-junior completed just 4-of-18 passes for 35 yards while rushing 16 times for 14 yards. The Tigers dominated up front on both sides of the football, that’s the goal again here with Deshaun Watson having another big game.
