The second-ranked Baylor Bears play host to the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday in college football action. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Bears favored to crush the Cyclones in this one.

Baylor has been beating up on everyone this season. It might have something to do with missing out on the college football playoff last year. Baylor wants to make a point of emphasis this year by blowing out everyone they play, earning those unspoken-of “style points” while they can.

To date the Bears have scored at least 56 points in every game and they’ve averaging just under 64 points in the six games to date. Baylor’s defense hasn’t been great but with the way the offense is posting points the defense really only has to come up with a couple of stops per game.

Iowa State is having a tough season again, sitting at 2-4 overall. Their schedule has actually been pretty tough though, with losses to Iowa (unbeaten), Toledo (unbeaten), Texas Tech (5-2) and TCU (unbeaten). While that schedule is tough, it is a bit difficult to gauge how good the Cyclones could be.

Baylor QB Seth Russell has 1,900 yards and 27 touchdown passes to date, 16 of those scores have gone to Corey Coleman. There are several Bears that have also caught touchdown passes, but note that Baylor has also been successful at running the football this year with an average of 7.1 yards per carry. Shock Linwood surpassed the 800-yard mark last game and has eight touchdowns as well.

The Baylor offense is just too strong, they’re going to put up a lot of points in this one even if Hurricane Patricia dumps a lot of water in Texas.
