The Michigan State Spartans are hosting the Indiana Hoosiers in Big Ten College Football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ABC or ESPN2 depending on regional coverage. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Spartans favored to pick up the win at home by a comfortable margin.
Michigan State had one of the most memorable plays in college football history last weekend to beat rival Michigan on a muffed punt as time expired. Now the Spartans have to find a way to regroup, stay focused and look to beat Indiana.
The Hoosiers started out on fire this season, winning the first four games on the schedule but have dropped the last three games, all of which came in Big Ten play. Indiana played Ohio State tough but then got beat up by Penn State and gave up 55 points in a loss to Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights scored 22 fourth-quarter points and held Indiana without any points in the final stanza, now the Hoosiers have to find a way to get it figured out this week.
Indiana has some offensive weapons in quarterback Nate Sudfeld along with running backs Jordan Howard and Devine Redding. Both Sudfeld and Howard have battled some injuries this year but when they are on the field the Hoosiers are very solid offensively. Sudfeld will play in this contest.
Connor Cook has had two straight great games on the road, tossing for a combined 695 yards in a pair of wins over Rutgers and Michigan. Aaron Burbridge has emerged as the go-to guy for the Spartans, he’s caught 44 passes for better than 700 yards. Cook and the Spartans should have no problem moving the football against the Hoosier defense.
Michigan State’s defense isn’t the same one you remember. They will give up points as well. Indiana is getting three possessions in this one.
