The Texas Tech Red Raiders are on the road in Big 12 College Football action on Saturday, taking on the Oklahoma Sooners. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ABC or ESPN2 depending on the regional market. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Sooners favored by right around two touchdowns to pick up the win.

Oklahoma dropped a tough game to Texas in a rivalry battle that now has the Longhorns looking like they could have a decent season. The Sooners were ranked 10th in the country in that one, they come into this contest ranked 17th and they're coming off a torching of Kansas State last week — Oklahoma blew the doors off the Wildcats in their own stadium 55-0.

Baker Mayfield tossed five touchdowns in that game and overall Oklahoma had 568 yards of total offense compared to just 110 for Kansas State. That result was the absolute perfect response for the Sooners after losing to Texas. Now, with just one loss and several key games ahead of them Oklahoma can play themselves back into the conference title discussion.

The Sooners defense should be able to cause some problems for Texas Tech, a team that spreads it out and throws A LOT. The Red Raiders' quarterback Patrick Mahomes has six more completions than Mayfield has attempts (196-190) this season and Texas Tech loves to line it up and go. They can also run the football well, DeAndre Washington has better than 740 yards on the ground and seven touchdowns, averaging seven yards per carry as well.

Oklahoma's defense will play a big role in this one. If they can get after Mahomes and pressure the Red Raiders up front, it will cause Texas Tech some problems.

This is a ton of points and it might be a bit of an overreaction, but even with a considerably better defense Oklahoma will be in for a tight one here.
