The St. Louis Cardinals are on the road tonight in Major League Baseball Playoff action, taking on the Chicago Cubs. The game is scheduled for a 6:07 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on TBS. Currently the Major League Baseball Odds for the game have the Cubs as the heavy favorite to get the job done.

Jake Arrieta dominated the Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League Wild Card game just a few days ago. He pitched a shutout on the road, striking out 11 and not walking a single hitter in one of the best outings in recent memory.

Repeating that performance against a playoff-battle tested team like St. Louis won't be easy. Arrieta is on one of the best multiple-month runs of anybody in the history of baseball, can he keep it up again tonight? Arrieta has made four starts against St. Louis this year, going 2-1 with a 2.42 ERA in 26 innings. None of the Cardinals have exception numbers against Arrieta, Jhonny Peralta and Jason Heyward both have six hits while Kolten Wong had five hits.

Arrieta actually has better numbers on the road compared to home, though, but his numbers at home still are damned impressive. Arrieta sports a 1.97 ERA at Wrigley Field this year, where he won nine of his 15 starts while opponents his just .184 against him.

St. Louis gives the baseball to Michael Wacha tonight. He won 17 games and had a 3.38 ERA in 30 starts but didn't have great numbers in four starts against the Cubs. Wacha had a 6.86 ERA over 21 innings, allowing the Cubs to hit .301 against him in that time with four home runs. If he doesn't have a good game the Cardinals are going to be in some trouble against these Cubbies, who are looking to erase history.

Starlin Castro and Anthony Rizzo both have two home runs against him, they both have 10 career hits off Wacha as well.

Chicago is going to be too tough tonight.
