The Arizona Cardinals are on the road to take on the Detroit Lions today in NFL Sunday football. The game is scheduled for a 4:05 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Cardinals favored by a slim margin on the road.
Arizona should probably be favored by more than right around a field goal in this one. The Lions have played decent in spots this season, but they're still 0-4 and the Cardinals don't have to deal with the early start on the East Coast. It should be business as usual for Arizona, which comes in with a 3-1 record on the season.
Detroit has some work to do defensively in this one. Arizona comes in with a healthy Carson Palmer, which makes them a solid team offensively. So far this season Palmer has 10 touchdowns and has looked comfortable again, finding Larry Fitzgerald five times for scores. The run game for Arizona hasn't been great yet this season, but Arizona has been able to win in spite of that at times.
Arizona is rebounding from a loss last week, though, and now they are on the road. That loss to St. Louis was a close one at 24-22 and it came at home. Palmer has won each of his last three starts on the road, though, giving Arizona some confidence today.
The Lions want to get Matt Stafford some confidence moving forward, but the offense has been sputtering. Detroit can't run the football, Stafford looks to be under pressure on almost every drop back and opposing defenses have been dictating how Detroit has been playing.
Arizona should be favored by more than they are, but the Lions are hungry for a win. Still, with Palmer's success on the road and Arizona being a better overall team, they win today.
