The top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes welcome in the Maryland Terrapins in Big Ten College Football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. Currently the college football odds for the game have the Buckeyes favored by almost five touchdowns to pick up the win.
Ohio State has not looked dominant yet this season, but they have plenty of time to get it figured out. That time could be this week against Maryland, a team that has apparently decided to fire head coach Randy Edsall but is unsure of when exactly they’re going to boot him. That’s got to be a tough position to be in after he just signed an extension through the 2019 season.
Maryland has been dreadful on offense the last two weeks, scoring just six points against West Virginia before being blown out at home by Michigan last week. Playing in Columbus isn’t a good answer for a two-game skid as the Buckeyes look to get things figured out.
Ohio State narrowly escaped with a one-touchdown win over Indiana on the road last week. The Hoosiers were prepared for the Buckeyes but couldn’t get the final touchdown on the last play of the game. The Hoosiers might have been prepared for Ezekiel Elliot, but it didn’t matter as the bruising tailback ran for 274 yards and three scores.
Maryland has turned it over a ton this season, their quarterbacks are awful and nothing is going right. Terps QB have been picked off 15 times and as a team they rank 121st in the country in turnover margin, sitting at -1.80 per game for the year. Giving Ohio State extra possessions is not a good way to win games.
The Bucks will look for a solid game from their quarterback spot with Cardale Jones, it shouldn’t be difficult against a poor Maryland defense.
