Sunday Night Football Dallas Cowboys at New Orleans Saints Start Time, NFL Odds, Free Pick

The New Orleans Saints welcome in the Dallas Cowboys tonight on Sunday Night Football. The game is scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on NBC. The NFL Odds for the game have the Saints favored by about a field goal to pick up the win.

New Orleans is going to have Drew Brees back on the field tonight, which should make a big difference for the Saints at home. Backup quarterback Luke McCown completed 31-of-38 passes last week that resulted in 310 yards, he wasn't able to throw a touchdown pass, however. The Saints ended up losing that game as well, but McCown did give them a pretty good shot at winning the game.

Dallas has their own quarterback problems as Tony Romo will miss significant time with a collar bone injury, his main target Dez Bryant will be out for a while as well. The MASH unit for the Cowboys features Brandon Weeden at quarterback, he put Dallas in a good position last week against Atlanta, but the Falcons scored 22 unanswered points in the second half to pick up the win and give Dallas it's first loss of the year. Another week of practice with the top offensive unit should help Weeden with timing and play-calling, but it also allows the Saints defense to prepare for him as well.

The Saints defense has given up 28 points per game, which needs to improve if they are going to have a successful season. New Orleans' defense has never really been a solid one during Sean Payton's tenure, though Rob Ryan does have the pedigree. Ryan's defense will look to blitz Weeden and bring a lot of pressure. The Saints rank just 27th in the league in total defense this year, opponents are piling up 397 yards of total offense per game against them, including 126 on the ground, which is the seventh-worst mark in the league.

Dallas will look to pound the rock behind that big ole offensive line, but will they be able to sustain drives enough to score points? New Orleans has messed around enough the opening three games, they cannot afford to lose again. Brees will be throwing the football all over the place tonight as the Saints find a way to win at home.
