Big Ten Football Iowa Hawkeyes at Wisconsin Badgers Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Wisconsin Badgers play host to the Iowa Hawkeyes in Big Ten College Football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a noon start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Badgers favored by about a touchdown to get the job done.

Wisconsin has rebounded from an opening-week loss to Alabama, but they’re doing it without dark horse Heisman candidate Corey Clement, who will miss significant time as he undergoes sports hernia surgery. Outside of him the Badgers have gotten great play at the tailback position from Taiwan Deal and Dare Ogunbowale, who have combined for better than 550 yards and seven touchdowns. There’s no doubt that Wisconsin is going to want to continue to pound the football against Iowa this week as the two schools play for the Heartland Trophy.

Wisconsin leads the all-time battle between these teams 44-42-2, the Badgers have claimed the last three games over the Hawkeyes.

Iowa is 4-0, they’ve been scoring points and the defense has been solid in allowing an average of just under 18 points per game. Quarterback C.J. Beathard has thrown for almost 1,000 yards and six scores to date, he’s completing 68 percent of his passes and found his receivers pretty reliable as four Hawkeyes have double-didit receptions, led by Matt VandeBerg with 25. Beathard will look to continue to get the football to his favorite target in this one, but Camp Randall will be loud and the crowd will be looking to cause problems for the Hawkeyes.

Wisconsin can throw it if they need to as well, Joel Stave has seven scores and has completed 23 passes to Alex Erickson and three TDs each to Robert Wheelwright and Austin Traylor.

Wisconsin, at home, is going to be tough to beat. Iowa has played well enough offensively to earn a look here as about a touchdown underdog.
