The BYU Cougars welcome in the Connecticut Huskies in Friday College Football action. The game is scheduled for a 10:15 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Currently the betting odds for the game have BYU listed as a comfortable favorite to pick up the win.

BYU got whacked at Michigan last week, barely eclipsing 100 total yards offensively and coming home with zero points. The Cougars have played arguably the toughest schedule in the country to date, welcoming in Connecticut will make that schedule a bit easier and the Cougars are heavy favorites to pick up their third win.

UConn has lost its only road game to date, falling at Missouri 9-6, they also were knocked off by Navy at home last week 28-18. Connecticut lost 35-10 last year to BYU was favored by 15 points or more four times last season, they failed to cover in all four of those occurrences. Playing at home in this one should help as the altitude of Utah is something Connecticut isn’t familiar with and the Cougars are a very physical team. The beating and continued power play by BYU is going to be a big factor in this contest, especially after UConn is coming off play a Navy team that runs the football as much as they do. The Midshipmen pounded the rock 61 times against the Huskies last week, Connecticut has to be beat up and that favors BYU.

The Cougars, as long as they don’t turn it over, should cruise in this one.
