The 0-2 Philadelphia Eagles are on the road in NFL Football action on Sunday, taking on the New York Jets. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the NFL Odds for the game have the Jets favored by a slim margin to pick up the win.
The Jets have been outstanding on the defensive side of the football so far this year, allowing just 8.5 points per game while ranking 10th in total defense. New York really opened some eyes last week on Monday Night Football when they created havoc all game for Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts. The Jets led that game from wire-to-wire and even posted 10 fourth quarter points to add insult to the Colts.
Philadelphia has its own problems, Chip Kelly’s team is 0-2 and the offense looked abysmal against Dallas last week, scoring just 10 points and rushing for seven yards. DeMarco Murray logged two rushing yards on 13 carries, Sam Bradford led the team with nine rushing yards on a pair of carries. That’s obviously going to have to get better because Kelly’s offense can really utilize the run game. Bradford threw the football 37 times last week against the Cowboys, getting picked off twice; he also threw two interceptions against Atlanta in the season-opening loss despite the Eagles doing some positive things in that game.
Philadelphia can’t continue to turn the football over if they are going to get things back on track. The Jets forced five turnovers against the Browns in the opener and five last week as well, three interceptions by Luck and two fumbles.
The Eagles can’t fall to 0-3 can they? The offense has to play better.
