The New England Patriots are on the road in NFL Football action on Sunday, taking on the Buffalo Bills. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the NFL Odds for the game have the Bills favored to pick up the win at home over the arch-rivals.
This should be an interesting game. New England comes into western New York as an underdog to the Bills, a team that owns one of the more underrated home field advantages in the NFL. Buffalo’s defense wreaked havoc on Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts last week, but will the defense be able to accomplish that feat two straight weeks against great quarterback play?
Tom Brady played well in the team’s season-opener against Pittsburgh, throwing three touchdowns to Rob Gronkowski in addition to a fourth score as well. The Patriots moved the football well at times against the Steelers, but didn’t run the ball at a great pace. Dion Lewis led the ground game with just 69 yards on 15 carries, nobody else has double digit yards for the Patriots. Overall the Steelers out-gained New England by about 100 yards, but the Patriots were able to hold on.
Buffalo’s win over Indianapolis saw them score points in all four quarters. Tyrod Taylor looked like a franchise quarterback against the Colts, throwing for 195 yards and a score while running for 41 more yards, managing the game well and putting Buffalo is a great position to win. The Bills defense forced Luck into throwing 23 incompletions and two interceptions, the Colts had just 64 yards on the ground with 17 carries.
Rex Ryan certainly hates the Patriots, but his teams have covered the number in five of the last six meetings with Bill Belichick’s group. This group on defense is probably the best Ryan has had in his coaching career, the defensive line by Buffalo is very good. They’re going to have to pressure Brady and look to force New England into turning it over.
Hard to go against the Patriots as underdogs, but if Shady McCoy and the Bills can move it offensively and the Buffalo defense comes to play again today, the Bills are going to be moving to 2-0.
