Georgia Bulldogs vs South Carolina Gamecocks College Football Betting Odds

The Georgia Bulldogs welcome in the South Carolina Gamecocks in college football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Bulldogs favored to pick up the win at home.

Just one of a solid spread of SEC games this weekend, Georgia looks to move to 3-0 this season and they are heavily favored to do so in this one. The Bulldogs are very solid offensively, averaging 41 points per game so far this season in a couple of cruising wins. Georgia has stuck to hanging the football to Nick Chubb, who has posted 309 yards and two scores through those two games. Overall Georgia is averaging 6.6 yards per carry this season and they’ve dominated the turnover differential, sitting at +4 for the season. Mark Richt’s team has been impressive to date and another win here over South Carolina tonight would help justify their Top 10 ranking to date.

South Carolina will have to start playing without their quarterback Connor Mitch, but backup Perry Orth has been OK in relief. He’s thrown a pick and couldn’t help lead the team to a win over Kentucky last weekend, facing a tough Georgia defense will be tough especially after just a single week of reps with the first string. Georgia will be testing Orth every way possible, looking to cause the inexperienced quarterback problems.

The Bulldogs won the most recent game in 2013, ending a streak of three straight victories for the Gamecocks. Kentucky knocked off South Carolina last week as a seven-point underdog on the road and Steve Spurrier’s team has to be concerned moving forward, playing Georgia is going to send them to 1-2 on the season and the Gamecocks have a tough stretch coming up against UCF, Missouri and LSU.

Georgia has SEC title game thoughts on their minds and they should be able to take care of South Carolina in this one, especially with the quarterback issues. Chubb is going to have to work for his yards and South Carolina’s defense can be stingy, but he should be able to get over the century mark in this one as the Bulldogs pick up the win.
