One of the final games to kick off in college football action Saturday night features the Utah Utes taking on the Fresno State Bulldogs. The game is scheduled for a 10:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the CBS Sports Network. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Utes favored by a couple of scores on the road.

Utah has been solid through their opening two games this year, beating Michigan and Utah State. This is the first road test for the Utes before a trip next week to Eugene to take on the Ducks.

Fresno State got embarrassed by Ole Miss last week, 73-21, so they should be better prepared for this one. Tim DeRuyter’s group needs to show up on both sides of the football or they could be looking at a 1-2 start to the season, which is what the odds indicate for this game anyway.

Utah’s official depth chart has Travis Wilson OR Kendal Thompson listed as the starting quarterback in this one, both have seen action on the field. Wilson has been battling a shoulder problem, but is still expected to play while Thompson didn’t see the field against Michigan, but did have some solid action against Utah State last week. Neither QB has thrown a touchdown pass yet this season, but both do have touchdowns on the ground.

Devontae Booker might be the best overall player on the field tonight, coming out of the backfield for Utah. He has a couple of touchdowns on the ground this year and has been the workhorse for the Utes through two games.

Fresno State is doing the two-quarterback thing as well, but it hasn’t been working out much like it has for the Utes. They’ve turned it over way too much and Utah’s defense is good enough to pick up a double-digit win on the road in this one.
