The Colorado Buffaloes open the 2015 college football season taking on the Hawaii Warriors on the road. The game is scheduled for an 1:00 a.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. Currently the college football odds for the game have the Buffaloes favored to pick up the win on the road.
The beauty of college football starting has us seeing a very late contest way out West. Hawaii welcomes in Colorado for this after midnight contest that college football fans looking forward to staying up late. Norm Chow's team has been horrendous the past three years, going just 8-29. Colorado has actually been worse during those three years, winning only seven games compared to 29 defeats. Still, it's college football at 1 a.m.
The Buffalos bring back nine starters on defense, hopefully they are better than giving up 39 points per game last year, which was 116th nationally. The Warriors struggled on offense scoring less than 21 points a game a season ago. Norm Chow is supposed to be an offensive guru, but so far it doesn't seem to be working.
Hawaii has USC transfer Max Wittek as the quarterback. The Warriors should be able to spread out the football in this matchup, and Wittek will be looking for both Quinton Pedroza and Marcus Kemp from the receiver position. Steven Lakalaka should get some touches as he is the main back in the system now as well.
Colorado QB Sefo Liufau helped the offense get better last year, he's now thrown for 40 TDs in his career. The Buffaloes should be able to move the ball tonight as well, but the running back position is a bit of a question mark right now.
With both defenses returning starters this could be low-scoring, but we like points to be scored in this contest.
