Houston Astros at New York Yankees Baseball Betting Odds, Free Pick

The New York Yankees are hosting the Houston Astros tonight in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the MLB Network. Currently the odds for the game have the Astros favored to pick up the win on the road.

Houston and New York both have 69 victories on the season and both would qualify for the post season if it started today. Each club has played like a playoff team so far this season, so this should be a great contest. An example of that comes from the 1-0 victory by the Yankees last night over Houston on a Carlos Beltran sacrifice fly in the ninth.

Tonight the Yankees take on Dallas Keuchel, who has been lights out in home games this season. Road games have been a bit troubling, though, as he's 3-6 with a 3.65 ERA in 11 road starts. He's lost six of seven as well in road starts, but tonight he's looking to be the first Astros started to win 15 games in a season since Roy Oswalt.

Keuchel is 11-0 in home games with a 1.35 ERA. Current Yankees are hitting .233 against the lefty in 73 at bats. Chase Headley has homered, Chris Young leads with six overall hits in 17 at bats.

Houston has struggled a bit offensively recently, scoring 15 runs the last seven games, but they are 5-2 in those games overall. They are winning these close games, and that is certainly good exposure and experience for them heading into what should be a post season appearance.

Ivan Nova will start tonight for the Yankees. He's pitched pretty well since coming back from the disabled list, posting a 5-5 record in 10 starts with a 3.72 ERA. At Yankee Stadium he's allowing opponents to hit .218 over 28 innings of work, his walk rate is a bit of a struggle though as Nova has given 12 free passes compared to 15 strikeouts in those games.

Nova has allowed current Astros to hit .391 against him in 23 at bats. Nobody has homered, Jed Lowrie has four hits in eight at bats while Colby Rasmus has two hits.

The Yankees are solid at home and Keuchel hasn't been nearly as sharp on the road. This should be a lower-scoring game and Houston has been able to piece together some wins in close contests.

Movie Oakland Raiders: 2015 NFL Free Picks & Betting Odds

Vegas betting expert Steve Fezzik doesn’t expect the bad situation in Oakland to get much better this season. This AFC West team may have some improvements in terms of personnel, but Jack Del Rio is the latest in a carousel of ever-changing mediocre coaches, and Fezzik doesn’t expect he is the guy to turn this team around. He also thinks people are overstating Derek Carr’s abilities at quarterback, as he may do well in the fourth quarter, but his numbers are padded with garbage time performance.
