NFL Preseason Football Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The NFL Preseason Football action continues tonight when the Buffalo Bills take on the Cleveland Browns. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have the Browns favored by about a field goal to pick up the win.

Both teams come into tonight's game with 0-1 records. The Buffalo Bills lost their preseason opener 25-24 as third-stringer Joe Webb guided the Carolina Panthers to a late touchdown, giving them a win. The Bills scored all 24 points in the middle two quarters and they held the football for better than 37 minutes.

The Browns were held to just 3.1 yards per play by the Washington Redskins last week in a 20-17 loss. Four quarterbacks saw the field for Cleveland, combining to throw 19-of-30 passes for 125 yards with a touchdown and a pick. Josh McCown threw the TD, Thaddeus Lewis tossed the pick. Both Johnny Manziel and Connor Shaw played as well, combining to complete 12-of-21 passes for 86 yards.

Cleveland's defense allowed Washington to average 5.6 yards per play last week, that will obviously have to get better tonight if they are going to be on the winning side. Buffalo's defense is going to get better under Rex Ryan, but they gave up 5.7 yards per play to Carolina last week, a number worse than what Cleveland did.

There could be some points scored in this one tonight, especially if the defenses continue to struggle for a second straight week. Buffalo has some questions at the quarterback position, but Matt Cassel did look good last week. Expect him to have another solid contest.

Movie Oakland Raiders: 2015 NFL Free Picks & Betting Odds

Vegas betting expert Steve Fezzik doesn’t expect the bad situation in Oakland to get much better this season. This AFC West team may have some improvements in terms of personnel, but Jack Del Rio is the latest in a carousel of ever-changing mediocre coaches, and Fezzik doesn’t expect he is the guy to turn this team around. He also thinks people are overstating Derek Carr’s abilities at quarterback, as he may do well in the fourth quarter, but his numbers are padded with garbage time performance.
