Major League Baseball Baltimore Orioles at Oakland Athletics Start Time, Odds

The Baltimore Orioles are on the road tonight when they take on the Oakland Athletics in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 10:05 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv and locally in both markets. Currently the odds for the game have the Athletics favored to pick up this win at home.

Baltimore is heading west for the next nine games on the schedule, they start with a three-game series against Oakland tonight. Baltimore is not six games behind the New York Yankees in the American League East standings, but they are just one game back of the Minnesota Twins for the second Wild Card spot as well.

Oakland has had a very subpar season. Record-wise they are tied with the Boston Red Sox with identical 47-59 records, the worst mark in the American League. The A's are 13 games behind the AL West-leading Houston Astros now with no positivity in sight. And yet, Oakland has now won two in a row, could they be a bump in the road for Baltimore this series?

The Orioles are sending youngster Tyler Wilson to the mound. He has a 1-1 record so far this season, throwing just 17 innings while allowing 18 hits.

Oakland sends Jesse Chavez to the mound tonight. Chavez is 5-10 on the year with a 3.53 ERA. Current Orioles own a .320 average against him in 25 plate appearances. Chavez is 3-4 on the year in home starts, covering 54 innings while allowing opponents an average of .244 in those starts.

Vegas betting expert Steve Fezzik doesn’t expect the bad situation in Oakland to get much better this season. This AFC West team may have some improvements in terms of personnel, but Jack Del Rio is the latest in a carousel of ever-changing mediocre coaches, and Fezzik doesn’t expect he is the guy to turn this team around. He also thinks people are overstating Derek Carr’s abilities at quarterback, as he may do well in the fourth quarter, but his numbers are padded with garbage time performance.
