Major League Baseball Chicago White Sox at St. Louis Cardinals Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Chicago White Sox are on the road tonight when they take on the St. Louis Cardinals in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 8:15  p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the odds for the game have the Cardinals favored to pick up the win in this one at home.

This should be a great pitching matchup tonight. Chris Sale is one of the better lefties in the league despite not having great numbers and Lance Lynn is the bulldog-type the Cardinals have always counted on for wins.

The Cardinals have been beating up on everyone, they're now 27 games above the .500 mark and have a ridiculous 29-7 mark in home games this season. The White Sox come in eight games under the .500 mark themselves and are atrocious on the road.

Sale is 6-4 with a 3.02 ERA this year, his splits show that he's much better in his own park. Sale's road numbers aren't bad at 4-3 with a 3.80 ERA in 45 innings, he's struck out 68 hitters in that time on the road while holding opponents to a .207 average.

Current Cardinals have an average of .229 against him but it's only been three hitters that have faced the lefty. Peter Bourjas has one hit in three at bats, Mark Reynolds has homered once in 15 at bats while Jhonny Peralta has four hits in 17 plate appearances.

Lynn has been very solid in home games this season, sporting a 3-1 record with a 2.31 ERA in 39 innings. Lynn has allowed just 10 earned runs at home this season and picked up two wins there in his last three starts overall.

Current White Sox are hitting .250 against Lynn in just 32 at bats, a handful of guys have a couple of hits.

Even with Sale on the mound, the draw of St. Louis at home is too tough to ignore. They're favored over one of the best lefties, and pitchers, in the game and that's not a mistake.

Movie Stop the All-Star Game Ballot Stuffing

Pro handicappers Teddy Covers and Steve Fezzik have a bone to pick with MLB Commisioner Bud Selig, who decided the All-Star exhibition game will determine World Series home field advantage. With Royals fans currently voting seven Kansas City players into the starting line up of the American League team, this popularity-based roster of an exhibition game which has way too much impact on the most important baseball series of the year.
