Major League Baseball Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Toronto Blue Jays welcome in the Boston Red Sox tonight in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the odds for the game have the Blue Jays favored to pick up the win in this one at home.

Surprisingly, both Toronto and Boston are in the last two spots in the American League East. The difference, though, is that the Blue Jays are just one game outside of first place while Boston sits eight full games outside of first place.

The Blue Jays have been solid at home as well, going 25-15 there this season. The Red Sox have identical 17 win campaigns on the road and at home and they've been out-scored by 45 runs this season, only four teams have worse run differentials this season.

Toronto has outscored opponents by 88 runs this season, the best mark in the American League.

The Red Sox will throw Clay Bucholz. He's had a nice career against the Jays with his 9-3 record and 2.30 ERA in 14 starts. So far this season Bucholz is just 5-6 but has a nice ERA at 3.68, the Red Sox need to score some more runs in his starts. Current Blue Jays have an average of .285 against him, Russell Martin has homered four times off him. Edwin Encarnacion has belted two homers, Jose Bautista also owns a bomb against him. He doesn't have a home run but Ryan Goins has nine hits in 19 at bats.

The Blue Jays will send R.A. Dickey to the bump. The knuckballer is 3-7 with a 4.88 ERA this year, current Red Sox have an average of .279 against him in 283 plate appearances. David Ortiz has three homers while Jackie Bradley Jr., Mike Napoli, Dustin Pedroia, Hanley Ramirez, Pablo Sandoval and Shane Victorino have all homered as well.

Expect some runs to be scored tonight by both teams, but Toronto's home record is tough to ignore.

Movie Stop the All-Star Game Ballot Stuffing

Pro handicappers Teddy Covers and Steve Fezzik have a bone to pick with MLB Commisioner Bud Selig, who decided the All-Star exhibition game will determine World Series home field advantage. With Royals fans currently voting seven Kansas City players into the starting line up of the American League team, this popularity-based roster of an exhibition game which has way too much impact on the most important baseball series of the year.
