Major League Baseball San Diego Padres at Arizona Diamondbacks Start Time, Odds

The San Diego Padres are on the road tonight in Major League Baseball action when they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks. The game is scheduled for a 9:40 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the odds for the game have the Diamondbacks favored to pick up the win at home.

James Shields still hasn't lost this season, posting a 7-0 record with a 3.59 ERA for San Diego. The Padres, though, find themselves three games under the .500 mark, six games outside of the first place Los Angeles Dodgers.

Arizona sits a half-game ahead of the Padres in the standings despite having one less victory. The Diamondbacks are just 5-5 in their last 10 games overall, San Diego has lost seven of their last 10 games as well.

The Padres are also dealing with the recent firing of Bud Black, Pat Murphy got his first win last night as San Diego snapped a four-game skid. Whether the team had a problem with Black's managing or not is a mystery, we'll see what Murphy can do. It's nice to have a starter like Shields, who had given up five earned runs in his last two starts combined, both losses for the Padres.

Shields pitched San Diego to six wins in May, one in June.

Arizona sends out Rubby De La Rosa to the mound. He's 5-3 with a 5.27 ERA. De La Rosa had an amazing start against San Francisco his last time out, tossing eight scoreless innings against the Giants. The previous two, against Atlanta and the Dodgers, saw him toss just 10 innings and allow 16 earned runs. Which De La Rosa will show up tonight?

In looking at the splits, De La Rosa has a 5.30 ERA in home starts, but is 3-0. Shields has a 4.46 ERA in road games. Arizona is favored despite Shields remaining to be unbeaten.

Movie Betting and Winning in the WNBA

According to pro handicapper Steve Fezzik, you don't even need to watch WNBA games to successfully bet the sport. He tells fellow handicapper Teddy Covers that the sportsbooks simply don't spend enough time setting good lines on the sport, so just following injury reports, like the one with top player Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury, will tell you what you need to know. Yes, the betting limits for WNBA are low, but the bright side to that is the wise guys leave WNBA alone, giving smaller stakes bettors more opportunities to succeed.
