Saturday Major League Baseball Pittsburgh Pirates at San Diego Padres Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The San Diego Padres welcome in the Pittsburgh Pirates in Major League Baseball action tonight. The game is is scheduled for a 10:10 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the odds for the game have the Padres listed as a decent favorite to pick up the win at home.

The Pittsburgh Pirates were white hot prior to last night's game against the San Diego Padres. Winners of seven straight prior to last night's Derek Norris grand slam to give San Diego a win, the Pirates have crawled back over the .500 mark at 25-23. San Diego still finds itself a couple of games below the level mark this season with a 24-26 record.

The Padres are running Tyson Ross out to the mound tonight. He's 2-4 with a pretty decent 3.84 ERA in his 10 starts. The Padres have scored only 42 runs in those 10 starts for Ross, which is why he's a shade under the .500 mark as a pitcher with solid numbers still. Ross can strike a bunch of guys out, he's going to need that tonight against a hot Pirates club.

Pittsburgh will send Charlie Morton to the mound, he's 1-0 after coming off injury. His lone start to the season was a seven-inning, eight-hit performance in a win over the Miami Marlins where he struck out just three Fish but allowed only two earned runs as well. Morton has held Padres hitters to a .150 average in 60 plate appearances, with no one collecting more than three hits against him.

The Pirates have the type of lineup to continue a hot streak, but facing Ross will not be an easy task tonight. Current Pirates own a .250 average against him in 44 at bats, but Neil Walker, Gregory Polanco and Andrew McCutchen have all homered off of him. Ross also owns a 4.70 ERA at PetCo Park.

Free Pick: Pirates

Movie NFL Free Pick: Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears

According to professional sports bettor Steve Fezzik, the early bird can catch a profitable worm if they put money down on Green Bay's opening week showing against the Chicago Bears. With the line currently at -4.5 at most Vegas sports books, Fezzik predicts it will move to -6.5 come game day, as no one is going to be betting on the Jay Cutler-helmed Bears, so the money will pour in on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. With that being the case, time strike early while the iron is hot.
