The Los Angeles Angels welcome in the Detroit Tigers in Major League Baseball action tonight. The game is is scheduled for a 10:05 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the odds for the game have the Angels listed as a decent favorite to pick up the win at home.

Los Angeles has spun the tires a little bit to start the season, currently sitting a single game under the .500 mark and 6.5 games behind the Houston Astros for first place in the American League West. Detroit is eight games over the .500 mark themselves, but both the Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals are tied for first place at 28-18. Detroit has been very solid on the road this season but hasn't been able to consistently get the job done at home, which causes them to be a game behind both the Twins and Royals for the lead in the division.

Tonight the Angels will send C.J. Wilson to the mound. Detroit has been solid against lefties this season with a .272 average in 331 at bats, they've also hit more home runs on the road this season than at Comerica Park. That's part of the reason the Tigers own a record of 14-8 away from home, one of the best marks in the league. Current Tigers own an average of .281 against him in 135 plate appearances. Miguel Cabrera, Nick Castellanos and Ian Kinsler have all homered off him.

Detroit sends Buck Farmer to the mound tonight. The youngster is 0-1 and has an 11.57 ERA in just 9 1/3 innings in his career, which happened last fall. He was clobbered by the Minnesota Twins in giving up seven earned runs while only recording four outs back on Aug. 23, his only official decision.

The greenness of the youngster Farmer could be good for the Tigers tonight, but it also could allow the Angels to have an aggressive approach. As good as Detroit has been on the road, including winning two straight at Oakland, it won't be easy to beat Wilson and the Halos tonight
