Major League Baseball New York Yankees at Washington Nationals Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The New York Yankees take on the Washington Nationals tonight in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv and locally in both markets. The betting odds for the game have the Nationals favored at home to pick up the victory.

An Interleague action series between these two squads, both New York and Washington have identical 22-17 records to date. The Yankees have the top spot in the American League East, holding a one-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays. Washington, on the other hand, sits a game behind the New York Mets in the National League East.

This should be a nice series between two competitive teams. Tonight the Yankees are sending Nathan Eovaldi to the mound. He's 3-1 on the season with a 4.14 ERA in his first year in New York. Eovaldi spent the past three seasons in the National League with the Miami Marlins, who are in the NL East with the Nationals — giving Washington several innings of experience against him in his career. Current Nationals are hitting .289 against him in 135 plate appearances, but only three home runs have been hit against him, with Ryan Zimmerman clubbing two of those in his eight at bats.

Gio Gonzalez heads to the mound tonight for Washington, he's 3-2 with a 4.25 ERA so far this season. Gonzalez threw seven innings each in his last two wins, coming against the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves, he gave up just two earned runs in those 14 innings. In his last start at Arizona Gonzalez earned a no decision, yielding five earned runs in five innings. Current Yankees have a lifetime average of .273 against him with minimal power.

Washington's Bryce Harper has been on fire the last week, clubbing 11 hits in 19 at bats (.579 average) with three home runs. Harper has started to grow into his potential and this year he's mashed 14 home runs so far this season, trailing only Nelson Cruz and his 15 bombs.

New York has been solid on the road, posting a 13-10 record. Washington is 10-6 in home games. The Nats are red hot by winning eight of their last 10 games, New York has stumbled by losing six of their last 10 games. Tonight that continues as the Nationals pick up the win.

Movie NFL Free Pick: Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears

According to professional sports bettor Steve Fezzik, the early bird can catch a profitable worm if they put money down on Green Bay's opening week showing against the Chicago Bears. With the line currently at -4.5 at most Vegas sports books, Fezzik predicts it will move to -6.5 come game day, as no one is going to be betting on the Jay Cutler-helmed Bears, so the money will pour in on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. With that being the case, time strike early while the iron is hot.
