Sunday Night Baseball Betting Odds Detroit Tigers vs St Louis Cardinals Free Pick

Sunday night baseball and i will have a Free Pick in the game between the Detroit Tigers and the St Louis Cardinals, which will be played at Busch Stadium in St Louis. First pitch is scheduled for an 8:05 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised on ESPN.

Betting Odds

Detroit                +137
St Louis               -147

Over/ Under: 7.5 O -120

This is game 3 of a 3 game series between these Interleague foes. The Tigers took game 1 of this series rather easily in a 10-4 win, but game two was much closer as they won 4-3 in 10 innings. The Tigers have now won 4 of their last 5 games to put their record at 23-14 on the year. St louis got out to a great start this year, but they have been scuffling of late as they have won just 2 of their last 7 games. Still they are 24-12 overall and hold a 3 game lead over the Cubs in the NL Central.

Detroit ranks 8th in scoring (4.57 rpg), 2nd in hitting (.283) and 14th in homers (34) while on the mound they are 11th in ERA (3.68) and 8th in WHIP (1.23). Detroit has gone 5-1 in their last 6 during game 3 of a series, and 7-3 in their last 10 interleague games as an underdog, but just 2-9 in their last 11 interleague road games vs. a team with a winning record.

St Louis ranks 14th in scoring (4.42 rpg), 7th in hitting (.267) and 31st in homers (30), while on the mound they are 1st in ERA (2.92) and 13th in WHIP (1.26). The Cards have gone 20-6 in their last 26 games vs. a right-handed starter and 39-14 in their last 53 games as a favorite, but just 2-7 in Lynn's last 9 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance.

Getting the ball for Detroit tonight will be Alfredo Simon, who is 4-1 with a 3.05 ERA on the year. Simon has faced the Cards 3 times as a starter (all last year) and he is 2-0 with a 3.44 ERA in those starts.

Getting the ball for the Cardinals tonight will be Lance Lynn, who is 2-3 with a 3.27 ERA on the year overall, including 1-1 with a 3.50 ERA at home. Lance has faced Detroit just once in his career and he lost that start 6-3, allowing 5 ERs in 5 innings in the game. Lance is 4-5 with a 3.46 ERA in 15 games (12 starts) in interleague play.

Pick: I will go with the Over in this game. Both starters have been solid this year, but I feel that the offenses can do so,e dame in this nationally televised game tonight. Detroit's offense is clicking right now as they have scored 27 runs in their last 3 games, while the Cardinals have averaged a solid 4.84 rpg at home for year and they have score 5 rpg in Lynn's last 3 starts. I can see both teams putting up at least 4 runs each here.
