Sunday Major League Baseball Betting Odds Colorado Rockies vs LA Dodgers Free Pick

Sunday afternoon major league baseball and we will see the Colorado Rockies take on the LA Dodgers at Chavez Ravine in Los Angeles. Free pick to follow. First pitch is scheduled for a 4:10 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised locally.

Betting Odds

Rockies                +183
Dodgers                -193

Over/ Under: 8.5 -110

This is game 4 of a 4 game series between these NL West foes. Last night the Dodgers had Zack Greinke on the mound and felt that he was enough to bet the Rockies, so they sat Pederson and Gonzalez for the game and the Rockies ended up winning it 7-1. LA is now 23-13 on the year and in first place in the NL West, while Colorado is in last place in the NL West with a 13-20 record. Colorado ranks 20th in the league in scoring (4.00 rpg), while on the mound they are 30th in ERA (5.16). The Dodgers rank 2nd in scoring (5.14 rpg), while on the mound they are 5th in ERA (3.37).

Trends for this game include: Colorado has gone  8-21 in their last 29 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600, 8-46 in their last 54 games as a road underdog of +151 to +200 and 2-10 in their last 12 games vs the NL West. The LA Dodgers have gone 13-3 in their last 16 games as a home favorite of -151 to -200 and 51-22 in their last 73 vs the NL West, but just 4-11 in their last 15 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.

Getting the ball for Colorado today will be Kyle Kendrick, who comes in at 1-4 with a high 7.65 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP on the year. He has not had good success vs the Dodgers, going 5-7 with a 6.86 ERA in 14 games (11 starts) vs them, while at Chavez Ravine he is 3-4 with a 7.91 ERA in 9 games (6 starts).

Getting the ball for the Dodgers tonight will be Michael Bolsinger, who is 1-0 with a 1.65 ERA in 2 starts so far this year. Last year he pitched for Arizona and was 1-6 with 5.50 ERA in 10 games (9 Starts). He faced the Rockies in one or the starts and got a no decision in a 5-4 Arizona loss. He allowed 4 ERs in just 5 innings of work.

Pick: I am going with the Over in this game. The Rockies offense has put up 11 runs in their last 2 games and I expect at least 4 out of them today, especially since the ball travels a bit better in Dodger home day games. The Dodgers offense was held in check last night, but still this is a strong offense that has averaged 5.7 rpg at home for the year, plus we also note that Pederson and Gonzalez got the night off last night and both will be back in today's lineup. This strong dodgers offense will be able to feast on Kyle Kendrick, who has a career 6.86 ERA vs the Dodgers overall and a 7.91 ERA in games played at Chavez Ravine. The Dodgers should really tag him for a bunch. Bolsinger has been solid for LA, but still this is just his 3rd start of the year and the Rockies do hit righties pretty well. I look for this one to eclipse 10 runs.
