Round 2 of the NBA Playoffs get underway on Sunday afternoon and I will have a free pick in Game 1 between the Washington Wizards and the Atlanta Hawks, which will take place at Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The game has a start time of 1:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ABC. Current Vegas betting odds have the Hawks listed as 5 point favorites, while the total is set at 198. 

Analysis: The Washington Wizards were picked by many to upset the Raptors in this first round series and that is exactly what they did, but im not sure that many would have expected a 4 game sweep. Now some feel that they have a chance to upset the Hawks in this series, mainly because Atlanta has not been playing all that well off late. Washington has gone 50-36 overall this year, but are just 19-24 on the road. The Wizards have gone 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games following a ATS win, but just 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. the Southeast Division. The Wizards have scored 95.2 ppg on 45.3% shooting overall and 33.8% from long range on the road this year. Defensively they have allowed 99.2 pg on 44.4% shooting overall and 37.1% shooting from long range away from home.  

The Atlanta Hawks came into the playoffs as the top seed in the East, but they really struggled with the Nets before crushing them in game 6 to move on. in the series the Hawks were just 2-4 ATS after going 50-30-2 ATS during the regular season. Atlanta has gone 38-6 SU at home for the year. The Hawks have gone 22-8-1 ATS in their last 31 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, but just 2-11-1 ATS in their last 14 Conference Semifinals games. The Hawks scored 103.3 ppg on 47.3% shooting overall and 38.1% shooting from long range at home this year. Defensively they allowed 94.9 ppg on 43.9% shooting overall and 33.2% shooting from long range at home for the year.  

Pick: I will be going with the Under in this one. The Hawks have played excellent defense at home all year as they have allowed just 94.9 ppg on their home floor, while the Wizards have struggled to score on the road, putting up just 95.2 ppg away from. Atlanta just came off a pretty tough series vs the Nets and have had little to to rest, so I wouldn't expect them to really look to push tempo here, especially vs a rested Washington squad. I just see this game being played at a rather slow pace as the teams feel each other out. That should keep the scoring around 190.
