The Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit Red Wings take to the ice again tonight in an NHL Playoffs Game 4 matchup. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on NBC Sports Network. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Lightning favored on the road to pick up the critical second win in the series.
Tampa Bay could find themselves in a big hole if they can't pick up a win here tonight in Detroit. The Red Wings looked very good in Game 3 of this series, shutting out the Lightning as Petr Mrazek was phenomenal in between the pipes. Mike Babcock and the Wings haven't gotten out of the second round of the playoffs since the 2009 season and this year they'd have a shot if they can get past the Lightning in this round.
Steven Stamkos and the Lightning have to hate playing at Joe Louis Arena as well. The Bolts have really struggled in the series against Detroit, losing going just 2-2-16 there with one tie the last 21 games there. Detroit still holds the home ice advantage as well, at least until the end of this game. If Tampa Bay is able to win tonight and gain the home-ice back by evening the series, they'll feel better about heading back home. If they aren't able to win this one over the Red Wings they're headed back to Florida just 60 minutes away from having their season come to an end.
The Wings got another goal from Pavel Datsyuk, the Detroit wizard, in the opening period for the second straight game. Detroit then added a couple more tallies to make it a comfortable win. Detroit is very tough to beat in the post season on their own ice and with the Tampa Bay demons in that building, it's tough to see them winning this one.
Tampa Bay has more pressure on themselves in this one, Detroit certainly benefits more from a win here tonight, which would allow them to have a dominant 3-1 series lead. The Red Wings play another solid game on both ends of the ice in this one and bring the series to a tough point for the Lightning.
