Golden State Warriors vs New Orleans Pelicans NBA Playoffs Game 3 Betting Odds, Free Pick

The NBA Playoffs on Thursday night and we will see the Golden State Warriors travel to the Smoothie King Center to take on the New Orleans Pelicans in game 3 of their best-of-seven series. Free Pick to follow. The game has a start time of 9:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on TNT. Current Vegas betting odds have Golden State listed as 5 point favorites, while the total is set at 203.

Analysis: The Golden State Warriors have been the best team in the NBA this year, but they have really played lackluster ball in their two non-covering wins over the Pelicans at home. Now the scene shifts to the road, where the Warriors have lost 3 of their last 4 games played SU. Overall this year Golden State has gone 28-13 on the road. Golden State has gone 16-5 ATS in their last 21 Conference Quarterfinals games, but 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win. The Warriors have scored 106.6 ppg on 46.0% shooting overall and 38.1% from long range on the road this year. Defensively they have struggled away from home as they have allowed 101.0 ppg on 42.8% shooting overall and 33.4% shooting from long range.

The New Orleans Pelicans played well to get into the playoffs and they have continued to play well vs the Warriors, as their two losses have been by 7 and 10 points, with the Pelicans covering both games. The Pelicans come home for this game 3 meeting and they have been a solid team at home, going 28-13 here on the year. New Orleans has gone 6-0 in Pelicans last 6 games following a S.U. loss, but just 2-7-1 ATS the last 10 at home in the series. The Pelicans have scored 101.7 ppg on 46.7% shooting overall and 37.8% from long range at home for the year. Defensively they have been solid at home, allowing 97.6 ppg on 45.8% shooting overall and 33.4% shooting from long range.

Pick: The Pelicans played very well on the road vs the Warriors ad they have played well at home this year, but I fully expect the Warriors to come out first up and focused for this one. The Warriors have been the best team in basketball this year, but we just didn't see their best basketball in games 1 and 2, but I do see them bringing their best here and walking away with at least an 8 or 9 point win.
