Sunday Night Baseball Betting Odds Cincinnati Reds vs St. Louis Cardinals Free Pick

Sunday night baseball and I will have a Free Pick in the game between the Cincinnati Reds and the St Louis Cardinals, which will be played at Busch Stadium in St Louis, Missouri. First pitch is scheduled for an 8:05 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised on ESPN.

Betting Odds

Cincinnati           +167
St Louis              -177

Over/ Under: 7 -110

This is game 3 of a 3 game set, in which the Cardinals will be going for the 3 game sweep of their division rivals. The Reds started off the year strong, but since then they are just 1-6 in their last  games and have gone 1-4 vs the Cards this year so far. St Louis comes in with a 7-3 record on the year and have now won 4 in a row. The Cards are now 46-19 the last 55 home games in the series.

The Reds come in 24th in scoring (3.47 rpg), 25th in hitting (.218) and 13th in homers (11). On the pitching front they are 19th in ERA (4.04) and 19th in WHIP (1.31). The Reds have gone 8-28 in their last 34 road games vs. a right-handed starter and 6-24 in their last 30 road games with the total set at 7.0-8.5, plus 0-8 in Leake's last 8 starts as a road underdog.

The Cards come in ranked 15th in scoring (4.10 rpg), 8th in hitting (.260) and 29th in homers (5), while on the mound they are 1st in ERA (2.00) and 3rd in WHIP (1.02). The Cards have gone 53-18 in their last 69 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 22-5 in Wainwrights last 27 starts with 5 days of rest.

Getting the ball tonight for Cincinnati will be Mike Leake, who is 0-0 with a 4.97 ERA in 2 starts so far. Mike is 4-6 with a 5.00 ERA in 14 games (13 starts) vs the Cardinals, which includes a 1-1 mark and a 4.44 ERA in 4 starts at Busch Stadium.

Getting the ball for the Cardinals will be Adam Wainwright, who is 1-1 with a 2.08 ERA in 2 starts this year. Adam has struggled in his career with the Reds as he is 7-9 with a 4.40 ERA in 22 games (17 starts) vs them, but last year he did face them twice and he went 2-0 in those starts, allowing just 8 hits and zero ERs in 15 innings of work.

Pick: Going with the under here despite he fact that both starters have struggled vs today's opponents. Adam Wainwright still pitches well at home and Mike Leake has not been that bad on the road in his career. Both offenses are not killing the ball and this is Sunday night baseball, which are usually low scoring games. I expect this one to put up no more than 5 runs.
