The NHL First Round Playoffs continue tonight when the Minnesota Wild take on the St. Louis Blues in the first game of their opening-round matchup. The game is scheduled for a 9:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on NBC Sports Network. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Blues favored by a comfortable margin.

The Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues both had successful seasons to get to this point, each eclipsing the 100-point plateau. The Blues finished tied with the Anaheim Ducks with 109 points atop the Western Conference, Minnesota had exactly 100 points and finished with the sixth seed.

The Blues host this game tonight and they were dominant at home this season, going 27-12-2. Minnesota finished nine games above the .500 mark on the road this year at 24-15-2, a pretty solid mark. They also claimed 12 wins the last 13 games on the road, which was certainly an impressive feat.

The Blues wound up winning 51 games, but it won't be easy offensively tonight against a Minnesota goalie in Devan Dubnyk, who finished with a 1.78 goals against average with the Wild after being acquired from the Coyotes.

Jake Allen, the young goalie for St. Louis, won five of the last seven starts for the season, posting a 1.32 goals against average and saving 95 percent of the shots he faced during that time. 

This should be a quality game tonight, look for the Blues to earn the win at home.
