NBA Monday Betting Odds Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors Free Pick

Monday night NBA and we will see the Memphis Grizzlies travel to Oracle Arena to take on the Golden State Warriors. Free Pick to follow. The game has a start time of 10:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on NBA TV. Current Vegas betting odds have the Warriors listed as 7.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 195.

Analysis:  The Memphis Grizzlies come in to this game a half a game behind the surging San Antonio Spurs in the Southwest Division.  The Grizzlies have still won 4 of their last 6 games and they are 54-36 overall, including have a 24-16 record on the road. The Grizzlies have gone 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, but just 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games following a ATS win. The Grizzlies have been an average offensive team this year, ranking 20th in scoring (98.2 ppg), 7th in shooting, 21st in 3 point shooting and 8th in FT shooting. Defensively the Grizzlies have been very good this year, ranking 2nd in points allowed (95.0 ppg), 10th in defensive FG% and 16th in 3 point defense.

The Golden State Warriors come in with the best record in the NBA at 65-15 overall, and they have bounced back from back-to-back road losses to San Antonio and New Orleans to win BB home games vs Portland and Minnesota. The Warriors have also wrapped up homecourt through the playoffs and they are 37-2 at home for the year. Golden State has gone 18-6-2 ATS in their last 26 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, but just 7-16 ATS in their last 23 games playing on 1 days rest. The Warriors have been a very good offensive team this year, ranking 1st in scoring (109.6 ppg), 1st in shooting, 1st in 3 point shooting and 9th in FT shooting. Defensively the Warriors have been solid, ranking 14th in points allowed (99.4 ppg), 1st in defensive FG% and 5th in 3 point defense.

Pick: The Warriors have absolutely nothing to play for here and for that reason I just cannot see this team running their normal uptempo offense. They don't have to and that should allow the Grizzlies to have a solid defensive game, which is what they usually do anyway. the Warriors have been an average defensive team in terms of points allowed, but they are the to team in the league in terms of defensive FG% and Memphis is not really a good offensive team. The Grizzlies have scored 89 or less in 6 of their last 9 games and they average just 96.6 ppg n the road, while the Warriors have allowed just 97.8 ppg at home. Memphis is still fighting for a division title and when they need to win a game badly they turn to their defense, while is what I expect here, while the Warriors will play vs vanilla on offense.
