CBI Tournament Finals Loyola-Chicago Ramblers vs UL Monroe Warhawks Free Pick

Tonight's college basketball Free Pick will be in game 2 of the CBI Tournament Finals between the Loyola- Chicago Ramblers and the UL Monroe Warhawks, which will take place at Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe, Louisiana. The game has a start time of 8:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on CBSSN. Current Vegas betting odds have the Warhawks listed as 2 point favorites, while the total is set at 124.5.

Analysis:  The Loyola Ramblers come in playing very good ball, as they have won 7 of their last 8 games, which includes a 65-58 win over UL Monroe in the first game of the CBI Tournament. The Ramblers are now 23-13 on the year and that includes a 7-6 mark in true road games. The Ramblers have gone 10-1 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games. Loyola has been a poor offensive team this year, ranking 289th in scoring (62.8 ppg), 32nd in shooting (47.2%), 17th in 3 point shooting (39.3%) and 190th in FT shooting (68.9%). The defense for this team has been very good as they come in ranked, 36th in points allowed (60.4 ppg), 186th in defensive FG% (43.3%) and 82nd in 3 point defense (32.5%).

The UL Monroe Warhawks had a solid year as they have gone 24-13 overall, but they are now up against it as they must win this game or their season will be over. Monroe has made it to the Finals of the CBI Tournament by taking out Eastern Michigan, Mercer and Vermont and they have gone a very nice 14-3 at home this year. ULM has gone 16-7 ATS in their last 23 non-conference games, but just 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. The Warhawks have been a poor offensive squad this year, ranking 245th in scoring (64.6 ppg), 217th in shooting (42.7%), 315th in 3 point shooting (30.5%) and 99th in FT shooting (71.3%). The defense for this team has been very good this year, ranking 37th in points allowed (60.4 ppg), 8th in defensive FG% (38.4%) and 8th in 3 point defense (29.5%).

Pick: I know i have been going Under in many of these lesser tournament games and that is because I feel they really jacked up the OU lines, due to the fact of the new shot clock rules. Well I feel this line may now be a bit low, especially with the way the teams played in the second half of game 1, which saw 73 points being scored. Both teams have played excellent defense this year, but Loyola has scored 65 ppg in their last 5 games, while the Warhawks have averaged 67.8 ppg in their last 4 games. I feel that the teams could be sluggish at the start, but you will see many points down the stretch, which will put the game Over the total. This could also be an OT game and If Monroe is down at all late you will see them foul like crazy as their is no tomorrow for them should they lose here. I see both teams scoring in the mid-60's here.
