NBA Sunday Betting Odds Memphis Grizzlies vs San Antonio Spurs Free Pick

Sunday night NBA and we will see the Memphis Grizzlies travel to the AT&T Center to take on the San Antonio Spurs. The game has a start time of 7:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised Locally. Current Vegas betting odds have the Spurs listed as 8 point favorites, while the total is set at 193.5.

Analysis: The Memphis Grizzlies come in with the 2nd best record in the West and 3rd best in all of the NBA, but they do come in off BB blowout losses to Cleveland and Golden State, with both games being at home. The Grizzlies still have a half a game lead over the Rockets in the Northwest Division, but their recent play is a cause for concern for this team. Memphis has gone 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game, but just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games playing on 1 days rest. The Grizzlies have been an average offensive team this year, ranking 18th in scoring (98.7 ppg), 8th in shooting, 16th in 3 point shooting and 7th in FT shooting. Defensively the Grizzlies have been very good this year, ranking 2nd in points allowed (95.6 ppg), 11th in defensive FG% and 19th in 3 point defense.

The San Antonio Spurs come in hot as they have won 12 of their last 15 games, which includes a very impressive 39 point home win over Oklahoma City on Wednesday, which was followed up by a 18 point home win over the Mavericks. This is a team rounding into form at the right time and the rest of the West needs to be very scared of this team. The Spurs are now 46-26 on the year and if the playoffs started today they would have a 6th seed. San Antonio has gone 6-1 ATS in their last 7 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game, but just 5-15 ATS in their last 20 vs. the Southwest Division. The Spurs have been a good offensive team this year, ranking 9th in scoring (102.7 ppg), 5th in shooting, 5th in 3 point shooting and 6th in FT shooting. Defensively the Spurs have been solid, ranking 7th in points allowed (97.5 ppg), 12th in defensive FG% and 25th in 3 point defense.

Pick:  Going with the Spurs in this one. San Antonio is beginning to turn it on, while Memphis has been blown out in their last 2 step up games, which were vs Cleveland and Golden State. This is not a team that is playing with confidence right now and I don't see how a trip to San Antonio will help their confidence levels. In three of their last 4 games the Spurs have won by 19 at Atlanta, by 39 at home over Oklahoma City and by 18 at home vs Dallas. This is a team playing with confidence and they should have little trouble winning this one by DD.
