NBA Basketball Betting Odds San Antonio Spurs vs Dallas Mavericks Free Pick

Tuesday night NBA and we will see the San Antonio Spurs travel to American Airlines Center to take on the Dallas Mavericks. The game has a start time of 8:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on TNT. Current Vegas betting odds have the Spurs listed as 3.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 206.5.

Analysis:  The San Antonio Spurs come in hot as they have won 10 of their last 12 games, which includes a very impressive 19 point road win over Atlanta on Sunday. The Spurs are now 44-25 on the year and if the playoffs started today they would have a 6th seed, but they are only 2 games behind Houston for the third seed in the West. San Antonio has gone 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, but the favorite is just 1-10 ATS the last 11 in the series. The Spurs have been a decent offensive team this year, ranking 11th in scoring (102.5 ppg), 5th in shooting, 6th in 3 point shooting and 6th in FT shooting. Defensively the Spurs have been solid, ranking 9th in points allowed (97.8 ppg), 12th in defensive FG% and 27th in 3 point defense.

The Dallas Mavericks are not playing good ball at the moment as they come in having won just 5 of their last 12 games overall. For the year Dallas is 44-27 overall, including 24-12 at home and if the playoffs started today they would be a 7 seed in the West. Dallas has gone just 8-24-2 ATS in their last 34 vs. the Western Conference and 8-21 ATS in their last 29 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Mavericks have been a very good offensive team this year, ranking 3rd in scoring (104.6 ppg), 6th in shooting, 11th in 3 point shooting and 17th in FT shooting. Defensively the Mavericks have not been so good this year, ranking 21st in points allowed (101.1 ppg), 17th in defensive FG% and 26th in 3 point defense.

Pick: Going with te Spurs in this one as they are starting to get into a groove, while the Mavericks are not. In their last game they took out the best team in the East on the road by 19 points and Dallas is just a mediocre team in the West that is really struggling right now. they haven't been good on offense, while their defense has been getting lit up of late. I just can't see the Mavs hanging with a more focused Spurs team that is playing better at both ends of the floor than Dallas is.
